Well, Z, I’m sure those are dandy, but your version of the show appears to have some missing bits:

Yellow Dog Story - 1/23/70, which I believe is complete enough to satisfy purists

Funiculi Funicala, 4/12/78 – includes bonus advice section

At the end of the show, your taper cut off the gentle Pigly goodnight, 9/19/70

Yeah, and no love for the 9-7-85 Frozen Logger either. How can that be?

That's hysterical! I'd never heard that one before. Yes, I agree it's a Must to start off any Greatest Show Ever. It's my new favorite, kazoo and all.

And it seemed to put them in a good mood, too; I got sucked into this show (who wouldn't be curious after such a beginning?!?) and it's really nice. Great growling Jerry on Loser. Sounds like it was a fun night on the Rocks.

Btw, here's the CM (for anyone else who might not have heard this):

At the time we were also intrigued by the Hey Jude - first since 69 if I remember correctly. Great way to cap 3 days on the rocks.

Whhhaaaaattt??? NO pre 70?

Yikes...

I used to do this when I was "less era biased", but it was only the mid 70s, I was forced to choose from less of a range and I found I only listened to it again (the "tape", right? You recall those?) if it was a studio selection. Live stuff, from bootlegs and tapes, just didn't work, in my view.

The sound was too divergent for my tastes, even if I selected my fav PeggyO from 75 or some such, it just didn't seem to fit with something from 66.

But, to each his/her own, Z.

That is why i never cared for "greatest hits" collections. They seemed to be a perfect vehicle..but there was no continuity which i preferred.
Probably why i was never much of a "singles fan once I discovered albums.
